Private lessons in study skills
A coach who teaches the pupil to get organised, study and prepare for exams, from primary school to higher education, at home anywhere in Belgium or online.
Getting organised, memorising, becoming independent
Many pupils study without a method: they reread their notes, highlight everything, and discover on exam day that nothing has stuck. It is not a matter of intelligence or motivation, but of tools.
The coach starts from the way the pupil works today: their planner, their notes, their way of studying. Then they help the pupil build their own tools: a realistic schedule, summaries, exercises to check what has been learned. The goal: that they no longer need their coach to get organised.
With their coach, the pupil learns to plan their week and their revision, take useful notes, memorise for the long term and manage stress before exams.
A method that grows with each level
You don't study the same way in the 5th year of primary school, in the final year of secondary school or in your first year at university.
In primary school
Keeping a homework diary, doing homework without help, learning a lesson and checking it is known. Then preparing calmly for the CEB.
In secondary school
Organising the week as subjects multiply, writing summaries, preparing for the December and June exams.
In higher education
Handling the volume of material, planning the study period, working through a syllabus and preparing for the January session, often the hardest.

ADHD, dyslexia, dyscalculia, autism (ASD), dysorthographia, dysphasia… Some children need a different way of explaining, organising and learning. These difficulties can affect their confidence, motivation and independence with schoolwork. My Sherpa takes the time to understand your child's profile and needs in order to select a suitable coach. The coach adjusts their pace, explanations and methods to help your child progress, develop concrete strategies and regain confidence in their abilities.
What the families we support say
Study skills: your questions
As soon as a pupil works hard without the results following, or does not know where to start. The turning points are the move to secondary school, to the second stage of secondary and to the first year of higher education: the amount of material grows and old habits are no longer enough.
It depends on the goal agreed with your educational advisor. A few sessions are often enough to set up a schedule and tools; longer support helps the pupil apply them right up to the exams.
The rate depends on the programme agreed with you: your educational advisor sends you a quote, with no obligation. As a guide, private lessons start at €35/h in primary and secondary school, and at €40/h in higher education.
Yes, and that is often where they matter most. For a pupil with dyslexia or an attention disorder, the coach adapts the tools: visual aids, a more detailed schedule, shorter sessions. Let your educational advisor know: they will choose a coach used to this profile.
