Private lessons in secondary school
From 1st year to the final year, a coach who knows the programme and knows how to get a teenager working again. At home or online.
The level rises, but study methods do not always keep up
Many students go through secondary school with their primary school method: rereading their notes the night before. That works until the amount of material doubles (often in 3rd year, sometimes as early as 2nd). Then results drop suddenly, without the student understanding what has changed.
So the coach works on two fronts: the subject that is causing trouble now, and the way to learn it. Planning a study period, sorting the essential from the secondary, testing yourself rather than rereading: these are habits that can be learned, and they pay off in every subject.
Maths, French, Dutch, English, German, Latin, physics, chemistry, biology, economics, computer science: we cover the subjects where most requests come from, as well as study skills in their own right.
When the way of learning is what holds things back, see our private lessons in study skills.

Support adapted to learning disorders
ADHD, dyslexia, dyscalculia, autism (ASD), dysorthographia, dysphasia… Some children need a different way of explaining, organising and learning. These difficulties can affect their confidence, motivation and independence with schoolwork. My Sherpa takes the time to understand your child's profile and needs in order to select a suitable coach. The coach adjusts their pace, explanations and methods to help your child progress, develop concrete strategies and regain confidence in their abilities.
Why choose My Sherpa for your teenager?
Support designed for the years when everything speeds up: more subjects, more exams, more independence expected.

We choose a coach who masters the subject and knows how to get a teenager working, with the right balance between demands and trust.

Follow-up that keeps you informed
Your educational advisor reviews progress with you and the coach, and adapts the programme when results or needs change.
Private lessons in secondary school: your questions
No, and waiting is usually more costly. In secondary school, an unaddressed gap becomes the missing foundation for the next topic: going back over a 3rd-year concept in 3rd year takes a few sessions; going back over it in 5th year means stepping back two years.
We recommend 2 hours in secondary school. At this level, the material requires setting up a line of reasoning and then applying it in exercises: in one hour, you do one or the other, rarely both.
Often yes, especially for related subjects such as maths and sciences. When that is not possible, your educational advisor organises the programme with a second coach who specialises in the other subject.
