Private French lessons
Spelling, comprehension, writing: three different difficulties, each tackled in its own way.
Writing without mistakes, understanding what you read, defending an idea
A bad mark in French can hide very different problems: a pupil who writes with mistakes, a pupil who reads without understanding, and a pupil who understands very well but can't structure what they want to say. All three call for different exercises.
The coach starts by having the pupil write and read to see which of the three they are dealing with. Only then is the approach chosen: working on spelling through rules, practising reading instructions and long texts, or a method for building an argued text.
With their coach, the pupil reviews spelling, grammar and verb conjugation, learns to understand a text, summarise it and write a synthesis, practises essay writing and prepares for the CEB or the CE1D.
French is not your mother tongue and you mainly want to learn to speak it, outside the school curriculum? Discover our French lessons, one to one, in a small group or online.

French lessons: your questions
Yes. Spelling is a set of rules and habits that develop through regular, corrected written practice. A secondary school pupil catches up faster than a primary school pupil, because they can understand the rule instead of memorising it.
By finding out what reading costs them. A pupil who still sounds out words aloud spends all their attention on decoding and has nothing left to understand the meaning: the problem lies in fluency, whatever their taste for reading. That is where the work begins.
Yes. These tests mainly assess written comprehension and structured writing. Preparation combines the method specific to the test with practice on papers from previous years.
